About the Diaspora Hub
This short survey launches the Diaspora Knowledge Hub Healthy Hopeful Urban Futures, a new, exciting initiative of the UrbanBetter Academy in collaboration with Research Alpha.
While diaspora engagement often focuses on finance and investment, this Hub centres intellectual (knowledge) capital — the knowledge, skills, professional or research expertise that can shape solutions for healthy, climate-resilient cities. This can take many forms, such as providing training or mentorship, doing academic research, or engaging in business or with civil society, among others.
The Hub aims to build long-term reciprocal pathways for diaspora scholars and practitioners to collaborate with institutions and cities on the continent and globally, delivering triple wins for Africa, diaspora countries of residence and global health and climate challenges. We aim to do so by providing the space for the diaspora to design how best to deliver these wins.
About the survey
This pulse survey, the first initiative of the Diaspora Hub, explores who you are, how you engage, the barriers and enablers you face, and your hopes and aspirations. Findings will be used to co-develop the Hub’s focus, programmes, and engagement pathways.
The survey takes approximately 9 minutes. All responses will be anonymised and used only for purposes aligned with the objectives of the Diaspora Knowledge Hub.
